As Head of Development, Angela runs Genial’s development slate, working closely with writers to grow the comedies and dramas that will be brought to your screens soon.

The first five series of BAFTA-winning comedy drama series SHAMELESS served as Angela’s training ground in story-telling and scriptwriting. The writer relationships and story-mining processes she developed during that time are still in play today. As a result of that she loves nothing better than brainstorming and finely-tuning ideas in a writer’s room, or working on detailed storylines.

After SHAMELESS, via a stint as Script Editor on CORONATION STREET, Angela made her way to Hat Trick Productions as Development Producer. During a ten-year tenure she developed numerous series and scripts. She secured a greenlight for BBC3’s comedy series SOME GIRLS before moving on to produce Comedy Drama series GREAT NIGHT OUT for ITV1. Developing and producing two series of YOU, ME & THEM soon followed which was UKTV’s first original scripted content commissioned for GOLD channel.

Joining Sophie and Simon as they launched Genial Productions in Summer 2018 was a natural progression in building on those key writer and commissioner relationships. She shares their love of absorbing stories, engaging characters and cracking dialogue and has a fantastic slate of scripted projects in development.
